V prize for women in defense of peace and the environment "Wangari Maathai"

Entitle collaborates with the 5th edition of the Italian Prize for Women in Defense of Peace and the Environment dedicated to WANGARI MAATHAI. The prize will be presented by the Centro di Documentazione sui Conflitti Ambientali and A Sud organization next Tuesday 8 of March 2016 in Rome. The award aims to recognise and give visibility to women's civic engagement in territorial struggles for peace, rights and the environment in Italy.
5th Edition of the Prize:
This 5th edition will award 5 italian activists representing various grassroots organisations and committees involved in the defense of environment, nature, health and human rights. In particular the cases awarded are related to the continous struggle of women for the right to health, with specific attention to reproductive health, maternity and infants' health. A special Prize dedicated to late Carla Ravaioli, will be awarded to a journalist who distinguished herself in the environmental journalism field.
Prize 2016 winners will receive a small unique piece of art hand made by ceramist and sculptor Lavinia Palma. Read more information on the event here (in Italian).

The ceremony will be introduced by Ms. Laura Greco, president of the Association A Sud and moderated by Ms. Marica Di Pierri, president of CDCA.
