Entitle seminar by Dimitri Roussopoulos on the past and future of environmental politics, in Barcelona
On the 14th of October, Dimitri Roussopoulos, the prominent Canadian environmental activist, will offer the seminar “Political Ecology and Social Ecology - the spectrum from yesterday to today” at ICTA-UAB Campus.
The speaker will present his classic book Political Ecology: Beyond Environmentalism which is now available in a new, expanded edition. The book explains the history of environmental politics and its prospects for the future. The seminar is free and open to the public, it will take place in Barcelona on October 14th, from 12.00 to 13.30 (Room Z/022-23, ICTA-ICP Building, Campus UAB).
Mr. Roussopoulos is an author, editor and activist with over fifty years of experience from various social movements. Since the late 1950s, he has been active in peace initiatives, ecology projects, and in the cooperative movement. Since 2001, he leads the Taskforce on Municipal Democracy of the City of Montréal. He is also involved in the World Social Forums and continues to advance the need for an extra-parliamentary opposition in Canada.
